The level 1 - 2 consist of sub-levels
Every program corresponds to the 2 levels of IKO Standards power kiting Program. You will have the possibility to go or not to go until the end of the program and you will be certified in accordance to the acquired aptitude.
LEVEL 1
Level 1 ( Bars or Handles ) :
Level 1A
Set-up rigging and ground handling skills
Pre-flight checks of equipment.
Safety checks of kite and equipment before flying
Level 1B
Personal and safety equipment required for power kiting - including emergency equipment for specific locations.
Level 1C
Launching and landing, with an assistant or independently
Use of kite leash and safety systems.
Piloting in the wind window and power zone. Understanding key areas and safety.
Simulate change of direction using a top turn.
Untwisting lines while kite is flying.
Level 1D
Landing the kite alone.
Safety pack down.
Level 1E
Walk across the wind with the kite to simulate traction.
LEVEL 2
Progress through to kites flown on handles at level 2 !!! You will also be introduced to location assessement and acquire the necessary knowledge to safety and fun !!!
LEVEL 2F
Basic understanding of weather and wind.
Understanding of the dangers of wind effects.
LEVEL 2G
Incident simulation - control kite and leashing out when you have fallen over.
